Character Information

Name: Jin Takayama
Canon: Kamen Rider Amazons
Canon Point: Episode 12, just before he gets his way and Operation Tlaloc is put into effect
Age: Never stated in canon, I'm going with somewhere in his late 30's.
History: There's a wiki here!

Personality: If Jin were to try to describe himself in three words, there's a very good chance he'd just use the phrase "can't be tamed." He claims not to eat anything unless he's killed it himself, and he raises chickens as a food source. They're not pets; he's very upfront about the fact that they're there to be eaten. He isn't prone to excessive sentimentality and doesn't really have the patience for it. Anyone who doesn't view the world as eat or be eaten is, in his estimation, deluding themselves. He'll have a good laugh at their foolishness and move on with his life; he doesn't see any point in wasting his time trying to swing others to his point of view. He's going to do what he wants to do, and that's that.

It's very easy for him to come off as a careless goofball, and that's the way he likes it. No one really expects the loudmouth with the dyed hair and the easy laugh to be any sort of real trouble, after all. But he's got no problem swaggering into a confrontation late to the party and proceeding to show everyone there just why he's awesome. He certainly thinks he is.

Jin is the sort of guy who, upon realizing that his research was infecting people and causing them to turn into man-eating monsters, goes and infects himself with the same thing, thus turning himself into a monster so that he can hunt every other infected person down. The idea of curing these people never seems to come to mind. Given the way he generally carries himself, it's not a stretch to imagine he actually enjoys the thrill of the hunt, of fighting all of these monsters that used to be human. He does not seem to see the Amazons, even himself, as being human any longer. While this line of thought causes the more sensitive Haruka a great deal of distress, Jin isn't bothered. I'd say he's made his peace with it, only there doesn't seem to have been any need for that in the first place. He has made himself into a monster in order to hunt monsters, and he's absolutely fine with that.

He's big into not showing any weakness or letting anything get to him. When he's captured by the extermination team and stuck in a Nozama lab without enough food to eat, he doesn't seem fazed at the possibility of being a lab rat for the rest of his life. Sure, he's not happy--he spends most of his time just whining about being hungry--but he's not despondent, either. It's a temporary setback, a minor annoyance, rather than the end of the world. He's got a lot of faith in things turning out to his advantage...in part possibly owing to the fact that he knows his awesome girlfriend is going to come rescue him. He likes to act like he's in charge of a situation, even though he often isn't, and he knows this behavior gets him results. It takes a great deal to shake Jin out of his usual cool, lazy behavior--he's even nonplussed when confronted with reanimated corpses. If Jin loses control, all bets are off.

Despite the fact that he comes off as relaxed and careless, there is something dangerous behind Jin's facade. It's the sort of thing that occasionally surfaces in his discussing his worldview with anyone--kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. He is completely unwilling to see the Amazons as people--they're just animals, and he needs to put them down. He helped create them, and he will destroy them. He will, as he puts it at one point, personally escort them to Hell. He does not care at all what happens to him; he's going to see them all killed at his own hands. And if he dies in the process, so be it. He is ruthless in his pursuit of Amazons, and he has no sentimentality to lead him to think that killing people who disagree with him is wrong. It's a worldview of absolutes--all Amazons are dangerous, all Amazons must be killed so that humanity can survive. Doesn't matter if the human in question is killing other humans, he will save that human from an Amazon trying to stop the murder and try to kill the Amazon instead. He doesn't care what humans do to humans; his priority is the Amazons.

Abilities: Jin is a human who has willingly infected himself with Amazon cells. Amazons are a sort of artificial biological construct that require large amounts of food in order to survive. They look and act human and have human emotions and feelings--but they will eventually "awaken" and turn into uncontrollable monsters. Amazons all need large amounts of protein to survive, and they will inevitably start eating humans. Jin was partially responsible for their creation, and so Jin has taken it upon himself to destroy all of them in turning himself into one.

These Amazon cells allow him to turn into a red lizardlike creature with increased strength, speed, reflexes and stamina. Most Amazons fight like wild animals, but he tends to fight like a human would, and he's a capable hand-to-hand combatant whether or not he is transformed. His self-control as an Amazon is greater than any of the others--he doesn't require any serums to stay in check, and he maintains full control over himself when he transforms. If he loses control, it's his own emotions and failings as a human being in play--not because some external force has physically transformed him into a monster. He uses an Amazon Driver, a special belt that he invented, in order to increase his fighting power.

Before he became an Amazon and devoted himself to hunting the others down, Jin was a pharmaceutical researcher. He has also displayed some potential for having talent with corporate espionage.

Jin, like all Amazons, requires large amounts of protein to survive. He can most often be found eating eggs to take care of this, as they are relatively portable and contain lots of protein. He is not fussy as to whether or not the eggs are cooked. If eggs are not available, then he insists on eating only what he kills himself.

Strengths: Strong convictions, committed to his ideals, persistent, will not turn away from doing unpleasant work himself, doesn't stress much
Weaknesses: Uncompromising, ruthless, can be childish, shortsighted, possesses little to no empathy
God/Shinki: God
Why?: He's already got the sort of mindset that absolutely does not need to be exacerbated by being told he's a god. Nothing will go wrong.
Top 3 Choices: Mixcoatl, Tlaloc, Nergal
God Type: Jin can be pretty ruthless, and his "kill or be killed" outlook on life means that he wouldn't look too kindly upon the weak asking him for help. Show him strength, then he'll think about it. How closely he went with the original would probably depend on what all the original entailed. He's down for ruthlessly smiting enemies or for giving the strong even more strength to vanquish their foes.
Power: Miasma Emission

Can't touch an Ayakashi? That's funny. No one tells Jin Takayama what he can and can't do. This thing was trouble, it needed to die, and it was going to die. The hunt was on. I'm a god, Jin figured, of course I can take this thing. Can't be any worse than an Amazon. There's a smirk as he whips out his Driver and snaps the belt around his waist. "Amazon." Jin flipped a switch on the belt, and there was a flare of smoke and a flash of light as Jin's form shifted to one of a red reptilian monster, not that Jin seemed bothered. That still worked, good enough for him. "You're lucky," he told the ayakashi, "I feel like making this quick." With that, he charged at the creature...

...and minutes later, he was limping away from that fight clutching a seriously blighted arm. He'd managed to give about as good as he got, and he'd wiped out the ayakashi in the end but still. The fight hadn't come without its costs. "Tch...can't be helped." He looks exasperated as he slumps against a wall, breathing heavily. What was he supposed to do? He was fine with having Shinki, but to have to rely on them to fight? That was pathetic. Utterly pathetic. "Damn it...looks like I'm gonna need some more of that holy water."

Anything Else?: Can't think of anything!
